What do we do at Bubbly Maths?

We make maths and science fun in schools, conferences, festivals, events and parties using soap bubbles, balloons, games with maths and science shows and hands on workshops.

What is a Bubbly Maths Day?

For schools, a typical Bubbly Maths Day starts with a 15 minute whole school assembly/introduction, followed by four one hour sessions, which typically includes two shows and two workshops. You can also choose our Bubbly Science Day..

For Festivals, we are often asked to present our award-winning Bubbly Maths Show, bursting with mathematics using soap bubbles and giant balloons, suitable for family audiences and engaging for all ages.

Other events, from conferences to children’s parties, will range from ideas for teachers, team building and family workshops to an hour of fun at a children’s party.



What topics are covered during a Bubbly Maths Show?

Our award winning Bubbly Maths show covers shape and space (geometry and measurement) in variations of the show, tailored to the audiences.
We also have a Bubbly Science bubble show (science with some maths) and a Bubbly Game Show which covers number, strategy and problem solving as well as PHSE of course!

Ages 3 to 5: Early Years & Foundation Stage (which covers EYFS Nursery/Pre-School & Reception/Kindergarten
Ages 5 to 7: Intermediate/Infant primary audiences (KS1)
Ages 7 to 12: Upper primary and first year of Secondary (KS2, transition & Year 7)

What topics are covered during a Bubbly Maths Workshop?

We can cover a wide range of topics in our workshops which are tailored from age 7 to school leaving

Maximum 30 participants. They involve lots of hands-on activities including shape and space, games, bubbles and science.

How long have you been in business?

Our founder, Caroline Ainslie started making maths fun in 2005 with her desire to help every child on Earth to love learning and enjoy mathematics.

Do you offer CPD – INSET – Teacher Training?

Yes, you can choose between our mathematical entertainers who will inspire your teachers and remind them how much fun maths can be,

OR

Have more formal INSET/CPD  led by an experienced maths consultant.

Are Bubbly Maths entertainers qualified teachers?

We all care deeply about education, specifically mathematics. Our entertainers are not teachers. Our content is based on mathematical learning principles and our follow up resources are written by maths learning experts. We have a qualified teacher and experienced maths consultant for INSET/CPD sessions should you prefer that option.

Do Bubbly Maths sessions offer “real” maths?

All our activities are a low threshold, high ceiling mathematical activities, which cause children to think about and do mathematics, even when they don’t realise it.

My child hates maths, will they enjoy the show?

Yes, our workshops and shows are designed to be enjoyable by all, no matter what their attainment level or feelings. The use of soap bubbles, balloons and games ensure a sense of enjoyment.
