FIRST Global Maths & Science Lesson
DNA
We organised our first Global Maths & Science Lesson with over 50,000 participants on the maths and science of DNA. It is now an annual event.

GWR Largest 3D Fractal made from modelling balloons SUCCESS!!!!
We did it!!!
On February 24th 2015 we became the Guinness World Records title for the “Largest 3D fractal made from modelling balloons” We are in the 2016 Golden book.
2014

World’s Largest Sierpinski Tetrahedron second attempt
We were part of the Cambridge Science festival for our second attempt. We had hundreds of visitors and lots of maths activities.
2013

World’s Largest Sierpinski Tetrahedron
Our first Guinness World Records title attempt. We didn’t achieve the record but we raised awareness for maths and AIMSSEC in the St Albans area.
Caroline became part of the Maths Week Ireland team and proudly joins them each year as part of the largest maths week in the world.

Mount Kilimanjaro Climb
The first climb for our online resource based on this fascinating African jewel, as well as raising money for AIMSSEC.
2009

South Africa
Caroline’s parents had grown up in South Africa and when she heard that children from disadvantaged communities there were struggling with maths, she really wanted to help.
In 2009 Caroline became an ardent supporter of AIMSSEC.

Toni Beardon, the founder of the Nrich founded AIMSSEC as an NGO, providing high quality professional development courses in mathematical learning for teachers in disadvantage areas at no cost to the teachers.
Caroline loves to fundraise for AIMSSEC and travels out to perform shows in African schools as often as she can.
2007

London Marathon
At Bubbly Maths, fundraising is an integral part of our make up. In 2007 our founder, Caroline “Bubblz” Ainslie speed-walked the London Marathon forThe Shooting Star Children’s Hospice.
2006

Caroline had become an award winning balloon artist and upon attending an origami session at her first maths conference, she had another epiphany…. Instead of using paper, how about using balloons??? The Bubbly Maths show and workshops were truly born.

Bubblz
Caroline started to visit schools doing maths shows in primary schools, Making Maths Fun. Hattie Maths had shown her how to make bubble shapes and how to encourage the children how to think mathematically

Hattie Maths
First, Caroline had to learn clowning skills and how to teach maths, having never been a teacher.
She attended her first clown convention and met Hattie Maths (Sue Brown). Hattie stood up during a session on clowning in schools and said “I am a maths clown, I want to retire and I can’t find anyone to train up to take over from me”.
The rest is history, thank you Hattie.
2004
Just a Bright Idea
In October 2004, Caroline had a life-changing epiphany. After hearing countless reports of children hating maths and leaving school without basic maths skills—missing out on future opportunities—she knew she had to take action.
Then she met a clown, and everything clicked.
What if she could make maths fun? What if children were drawn in by laughter, games and curiosity?
So Caroline became a clown herself, creating an exciting, interactive maths show that helped children experience the joy of learning—and discover that maths can be amazing and enjoyable
Pre 2004

Our founder, Caroline Ainslie was born in London, brought up in Spain and became an electronic in engineer. She always wondered what her life’s purpose was. She KNEW it wasn’t “being an engineer” she felt the urge to serve the world but didn’t know how best to do it.
